Is it bad that when watching a Steve Mail Haul now, whenever there is a Russian type book amongst them my mind automatically goes, there's a book he's sending to Olive! lol

October as Russian history month is a great idea!

I've never heard anything about the backstory of Dr. Zhivago and how it came to be published. If you are interested in a buddy read or do a read along of that one, let me know.😀

"Bears in the Streets" sounds amazing! I am a sucker for those kinds of observant travel memoirs/commentaries.

I'm excited for a potential read-a-long, I've decided to delve deeper into nonfiction and I've always loved history and wars. that sounds like something up my alley

I'm so on board with a Caught in the Revolution read-a-long! I also picked up a copy of S. A. Smith's Russia in revolution and can't wait to get to it in October :)

Woman! You're a 1-woman library when it comes it books on Russia. How many books do you have on that topic now? I think a "Russian" month would be great - it'd be really interesting to hear a number of your reviews / discussions in succession to really look at the subject. I know so little about it!

The Outrun sounds great... same with the Smirnov book (I never connected where it originated).

Have you read Orlando Figes' book on the Russian Revolution? It is called "A people's tragedy". It is a huge book (nearly 1000 pages). I haven't read it; I just saw it online and wondered whether you would recommend it (or not).

I'd be curious to see your breaking apart the argument. It would make for an interesting video.
