Even in an emergency, law enforcement must make sure others are stopped before proceeding thru a traffic light, then proceed with caution until clear.... plus, it's just common sense to always suspect not everyone will pay just like the driver of the red truck. Situational awareness is a beautiful thing 😂

The people who say it’s the cop’s fault for running the red light, should know that any emergency vehicles that are on are allowed to break any traffic rules and other drivers should slow and stop regardless of who gets the right of way or who gets to pass based on the driving rules.

And to the people who say that it’s the cop’s fault for not checking the intersection should know that emergency vehicles do check the intersection by SLOWLY passing into the intersection if it’s nearly empty(as this cop did) not necessarily a semi-stop & checking because the two cars who have passed are far ahead of the pickup truck so the cop had enough time to pass as it took a few seconds for the hit to happen and emergency vehicles have sirens for a reason to make other drivers aware of incoming emergency vehicles and the pick up truck should have heard it and could have been more aware of it because if you hear any emergency vehicles you should also be more cautious to slow down just in case
