'Tricky issue': Stripping Harry and Meghan's royal titles would require an act of parliament

Former ITN royal editor Tim Ewart says to strip Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of their royal titles would require an act of parliament.

“If you read those comments and talk to people – a lot of people would say it’s nonsense, if they don’t want to be part of the Royal Family, they shouldn’t be the Duke and Duchess anymore,” he told Sky News host Caroline Di Russo.

“But that’s really quite a tricky issue, to put it mildly.”

Mr Ewart said King Charles “does not have the right” to strip the Sussexes of their royal titles on his own.

Harry is no longer a senior Royal. In the interview, he said he would never return.

This American is not the least bit impressed by them. I’d never heard of Meghan until she became linked to Harry. In fact, nobody I know had ever heard of her, or the show she was in. I was happy that he had found somebody and had high hopes for them until the drama started right before the wedding. It was downhill from there and I hate that The Late Queen went to her eternal rest with such turmoil in the RF.

Clearly the answer is to remove Harry from the line of succession. Then he won't have any problem will he? In choosing not to be a working royal how can he possibly also want to be in line of succession. It is quite illogical. That is where the conflict lies, created entirely in Harry's head, trying to have it both ways.

Correction: Harry left the "abusive" institution. He is no longer a senior Royal, and God forbids that he may become King. Why so many considerations?

Besides, giving him any prominence would go against his direct wishes of privacy!
