You're going to fast for me. Is this a tutorial or a race?

Thanks for another great video. The case looks great. I have set up Pi 4 in exactly this way, however just in case anyone is interested Armbian has OMV as a software for install in their armbian-config. I have used this on a couple of machines and it works well, and Id assume it would also work on the Pi4. I am really pleased you are still doing Pi 4 content.

Been using OMV 6 on an M93 tiny with 16gb memory and an I3 for a while now. Love it. Was only 160 US, so I bought 2 more just for other Linux projects.

I have Raspberry Pi 4, openmediavault 6 and 4 USB Ports Transcend HUB3K with external power supply. All this worked for a couple of years, a month ago problems with loading started. I’ve tried different operating systems, different HDD setups. I tried to solve the problem for a month. It turned out that the problem is in the firmware of the USB hub. I downloaded HUB3K Firmware Update Utility, rewrote the firmware of the USB hub. Raspberry Pi 4 started loading normally. I hope this information helps someone.

After the OMV6 install rebooted the pi the install hung with "[2024-02-19 02:03:33+0000] [omvinstall] IP address may change and you could lose connection if running this script via ssh." What do I do now???? Have I bricked my pi? Reinstall the OS and start again?

Hi, thanks for this video. I am trying to follow it and enable docker and portainer. But I have the feeling something has changed. I dont have your same menu items. I installed (fresh install) Version 6.7.1-2 (Shaitan).
It seems Portainer is not there!
Do I have to install docker compose and portainer separately in a terminal?

I am always amazed at what "Inspector Gadget" comes up with.. A new project for me now.Yay. I'm going to use my HP TINY PILOT PC complete with Tiny pilot. Another new project. I have the four bay Mediasonic fully populated and ready to rock. This looks like another great project.

I like your videos! I try to follow. I still love Raspberry. Now I use a proxmox server, but when I have time I still play with the pi. A fan from Hungary ;)

openmediavault does show OMV-Extras, but no installed subpreferences (no arrow to open).
there was no error during or after the installation. any suggestions?

I think the title is slightly misleading as you don't show how to install OMV6 on a raspberry pi, nor are installation instructions on the blog post. But overall, a decent showcase video on setting up the mini tower NAS by 52Pi with getting the required git repositories and integrating everything with OMV6.

Found this video cuz my OMV5 decided to yeet itself along with the drive after i ran a series of updates on my system then again my NAS hadn't been rebooted in almost a year. Sadly i had the error that my storage drive was no longer mountable not to mention i could no longer SSH into my system for whatever reason. Oh well i had read online before that in order to upgrade to OMV6 one had to do a fresh install so i'm in the process of doing that as i type this.

One thing i wanted to mention is the Raspberry Pi Foundation had recently added a new "secret" option to the Imager but now as of update V1.73 they've added a visible cogwheel under the right button that allows one to set both SSH & Wifi right from the Imager but one can still go the long way via the Config settings.

Loved your way of explaining 😊
Subscribed and will try to find a video I am looking for help with OMV install,
Getting internal server error whenever I am trying to define a shared folder in compose settings, file system for docker data and shared on usb hdd already mounted as NTFS but it wont
Allow me to get rid of 500 internal server error on web Gui.

Hey Dave!

Informative video as always. I do have a question. Let's say I am using Pi4 with SD card and have installed OMV on it. Now everything works fine until one fine day when the SD card just fails. What would happen to my data or OMV configuration? Is there a way in OMV to backup config/acl/other permissions so that one can just install a new version of OMV and just import the old settings?

Lastly, how do I change the port for OMV during installation so that it doesn't use port 80? I have other service such as PiHole running on the Pi where I want to test OMV6.

Thanks

Very important. What's the copy speed? If it's 30MB/sec then the whole thing become a joke. It has to at least max out the 1G LAN connection.
