They are missing the point. PC here represents edge computing which is the next step of cloud computing. They are not mutually exclusive.

A lot of people have been burned or not happy with ever increasing costs, failure of privacy and insecurity of the cloud and want to bring everything back on premise, or at least have the powerful 3-in-1 laptop/tablets and smart local wireless storage on their own protected networks plus android tablets designed for work. Intels weakness has always been efficiency/energy and heat. Any improvement there is welcome.

@Karen: there are good reasons in embedding AI into devices (the edge) rather then using the cloud... one reason is data privacy and security, you do not want all your private inputs to be uploaded to a third party cloud just to run a simple inference.

Not a good move, PC and Laptop usage is going down, not up. Everything is mobile, accessing AI with a traditional chip from the cloud is the future.

AI is just a program, with code in it, programmed in such a way that it does some tasks for you.. makes decision making and reporting easier for humans.. Including Chat GPT. and Google.. So what is the fuzz all about? AI AI AI ... what AI? AI is a software, not a CHIP.. so why you keep talking about the "AI CHIPS" ?? 🤌🏽
