How To Make A Dinosaur Egg Bowl 4k. My friend Jay Bates had an old maple tree cut down in his back yard a while back and I got a hold of a bunch of the wood from it. It was a maple tree that had been dead for some time and had a bunch of beautiful spalting. I decided I wanted to make a bowl from it and it wound up looking like a cracking dinosaur egg.

This piece is really beautiful. The colours are stunning together. The only things I really would've liked you to do, is to polish it up to a higher shine. I think that would've made it look even better. There's also a couple little areas in the cracks that had bubbles, so the resin didn't quite fill it in smoothly, and I think if you had put a little more resin, just to fill it in, that would've made it easier to polish up. It's still a very beautiful piece though. I also liked your video... 👍

That took some bravery to turn that whole project with the wood just being held together with resin. I would have been expecting some flying projectiles. Beautiful work!

Very nice, but mineral oil is not a food safe finish-it never dries. Maybe a coat of sanding sealer, then some Yorkshire Grit?
