After years of turning, I decided to give burned slots a try. Your video was just what I needed to see. Many thanks!

I like the ball idea. I use bailing wire for bigger lines, and left over wire from my mig welder for smaller lines. TTFN Sid.

You can use dowels like you show here. I've made wooden balls of about 1 1/4 inch in diameter. The wire is fixed with a through-hole and another hole drilled close to it half the depth where you stick the end of the wire in. They provide a good hold and in case of an emergency they slip easily from your fingers. Still haven made a video about that so thnx for reminding me!

Thank you, thinking Dollar store picture hanging wire might be a good sub for the primo guitar wire..Blessings

What is the gauge you use on small turnings?

Dean, I’ve heard several people say they use guitar strings as well as cable wire of old bicycle brakes. I was wondering if you know the correct term they call the little ends crimped at the ends of stainless wire(like on bicycle brakes). The wire is real tough to bend and I thought after putting the wire through the wooden handle you could crimp one one the end.
Thanks
