to this date, the last team to 3-peat in any of the 4 major sports was the LA Lakers from 2000 to 2002

It's important to note that the main reason why the Packers didn't threepeat in Super Bowls is because Vince Lombardi retired from the team to go coach Washington for a season before he succumbed to cancer. Which just goes to show you what coaching for Washington does to you.

The Packers still deserve credit for three-peating NFL Championships during the great depression and the dawn of the Super Bowl. Of course it isn't a Super Bowl three-peat, but they did exactly what they needed to do to be winners in each of those seasons.

The Broncos best chance of a three-peat was 1996. If they had beat the Jaguars, there was a solid chance they could have went to the Super Bowl and beat the Packers a year early. Could’ve easily had a three-peat consisting of 96-98.
