BMW 120i e87 n46 engine problem

Well mines more long stretched story my timing chain was done 6 months ago and some idiot did not tighten the crank shaft pulley down so it come off... So i had to get recovered to a garage put it back on and was 180 degrees out of timing paid £360 to put it right.... But now its shakey and like yours so i know its either cam chain tensioner or the vanos solenoids.... If not those then its bent valves for me but going to book into bmw for next week ill let you know how i get on.

hey, I have a similar problem with my e90, what is in fact true problem? car have that noise on first start up, when it is cold. help?

Quick update bud! Do this when engine cold on first start up does it make less noise when in neutral and press clutch down to the floor? If yes then its the "dual mass flywheel" which basically means need a full clutch kit including dual mass flywheel. This is what mine has which i know of... I have my car booked into bmw on the 9th sept so ill let you know what the outcome is!

Hello did you find out the problem for this issue? Think mine is similar does then car shake when idleing? Like feel like its rocking when sitting inside? Thanks ive beeb looking about think its the cam tensioner

Sold the car in january this year the car needed the valvetronic fingers changing costing around £1, 400 so i didnt bother and sold it off quickly! Old bmw cars are better these days!
