[FULL BUILD] Making the Independence Bowie Knife

In this video I walk you through the entire build process of making a takedown bowie with American Flag Mosaic damascus.
This pecan handle material originated from one of the trees on the George Washington estate at Mount Vernon.

All the footage was filmed at my shop in Southern Ontario, Canada.
This is a special piece I am making for the Nashville Custom Knife Show.

Everything about this knife is gorgeous but damn! That shape is perfect, I’ve never seen a nicer shaped Bowie, everything is perfect, the dimensions of the blade, the shape of the handle, a lot of people make Bowles that looked like they yanked it out of a psychedelic trip but the is knife is literally pleasurable to look at, the shape is PERFECT!

Fantastic work! I've been admiring Damascus steel for probably 50 years in books by men like Bill Moran.
I have forged a few knives and horseshoes but never made any damascus.
It's only in recent years with videos like yours and Kyle Royer that I've come to believe it's possible for me (on some level.) I think the Mosaic is probably my favorite but I also like the feather pattern a lot.
One nitpicky thing: my wife is from Louisiana- where they have a lot of pecan trees and pies. She has made me learn to pronounce it, "pa-CON" rather than "PEE-can" :-)
At any rate I appreciate you sharing your fantastic workmanship with us. This is the first time I've even heard of the flag pattern.
