Feathers are an "old-school" way of maintaining an oboe, and many frown on their use. We mainly use silk swabs here at CDRC. We've gotten many requests for information on feathers and this video attempts to help answer some of those questions.

With a clarinet you pull a cloth through on a string. Could you do that with an oboe or are feathers more affective?
