CEOs and other executives should be paid a certain multiple of the lowest paid workers, say 100 times, and anything over that should be paid as shares in the company that can only be sold when the individual is of retirement age. This would ensure decisions are made for the longevity of the company, rather than pump&dump, etc, and the individual would have a vested interest in the company (a company they understand more than most people) even When they no longer work there so they would be incentivised to ensure that the company continues to be run well so that their retirement investment is not squandered. Thoughts?

Bullshit! No CEO is worth that obscene amount. A company needs a team to accomplish goals. A single person cannot single handedly drive to create value for the company

Yeah I do agree that ceos and higher ups should be compensated for what they do. And they should be getting paid a very good wage. But his argument that they are that much more important than the average worker… he realizes if every Amazon worker in the warehouse stopped shipping product they wouldn’t make any money? If the workers on the meat lines just stop working.. there goes our meat. The workers at the food processing factories.. if they stopped working there goes your food. If truck drivers stopped driving, there goes your EVERYTHING. without the workers, the CEO’s are literally worthless.

Mangy these are the same CEO's that are saying nobody wants to work anymore and have whole states where their whole Enterprise has shut down due to lack of employees I agree with one of the other commenters what are they going to be CEOs of if they had no employees if you keep paying employees barely scraping by wages you will go out of business we the people are really starting to recognize our power. I think the pandemic really showed companies what is possible but also how quickly they can go under regardless of reputation and lineage. If you continue to have bad management and higher-ups you will not last much longer in the American market because while we are desperate we are innovative. It's America.

If hes that good then why does he need factory workers, drivers, management, HR, custodial etc ? All they do honsetly is take ideas from people under them to increase production and increase profits. It usually comes from taking away from everyone underneath them. Im not a commie either but this systems flawed. This is why the American middle class in disappearing. This system has resulted in manufacturing being outsourced to poverty stricken countries, foreign work visas brought to America and us turning into a service based economy. Its literally rotting the country of 350 million so a couple thousand people can be billionaires.

A CEO should not be making more than 100 times the lowest paid employee. If you want to increase their pay, then increase the lowest workers pay.

Its called risk. When you asume the risk you gain the benifet. If workers got paid based on what they ACTUALLY contribute pay would be DROPPING. Your not gonna get paid more to do less.
