Lets Talk Books PT2

Hey y'all!! I got a bit a head of myself in my last video and truly thought I could/should cover 11 books in a timely manner lol.
Well I learned my lesson. Here is part 2 of that video.

Spells for Forgetting is amazing, especially if you like fantasy realism. Her newest book The Unmaking of June Farrow is just as enjoyable, also fantasy realism but in a different way that worked equally as well. Absolutely love Adrienne Young! You may also enjoy Red Rabbit it’s a western fantasy (think more western style w/ fantasy realism vibes) but was easily one of my top picks for the year. 😍📚

I’m the same way with my books. I want them to be in perfect condition and it drives me crazy when they put those hard to peel off stickers on the front of the book 😳😡 Great reviews!

You did better than me with Gingerbread. I couldn't get into the writing style. It was requiring too much work! Long, short it was a DNF for me. 😅Unsettled is on my TBR. I never heard of River Mumma. It sounds interesting..adding it. Jacked up books (creases, tears, etc.) irate me too. Oh.. heres a recommendation if you haven't read it Forty Acres by Dwayne Alexander Smith. That book was amazing! If you haven't read Hugh Holton you have to check him out. His writing will blow you away! All of his books are phenomenal. He was a black Chicago police officer that could write a story! I never hear his name being mentioned. Start with Windy City. Thanks for taking the time to create and post. Make it a great weekend. 😊

Let Us Descend was AMAZING. I listened to the audiobook because I couldn’t wait for my physical copy and it was read by Jesymn Ward. It was beautiful!
I have Unsettled on my TBR so I’m excited to hear how you like it.

I want to suggest to you two books: Sire by Kevin Macklin (audio is on Youtube) and In The Gray by B.B. Reid. both of these books are not for the faint of heart. They deal with dark urban issues, the lies we tell others as well as ourselves, and the lengths people will go to keep the truth from coming to light. Please read the author's notes for trigger warnings before reading the book.

Read Unsettled last month and mannn I loved the chapters from the Grandmother ; read Let Us Descend recently & Jesmyn Ward can do no wrong, imo, but Salvage The Bones remains my favorite from her ( & favorites flat out). Read Spells Forgetting to try to get into Halloween season. 📖🪱💚

I wait weeks to get in hands Let us descend from the library and I need to return it in 6 days. I think will DNF 🥲 because idk I just think the writing style is to boring for me, which is sad cuz I was so excited 😭 but is not working for me
