Hi Dr.D so I have a question about the Cysteine. When the two cysteines form the covalent bond between SH and HS, where do the Hydrogens go? You mentioned the two Sulfurs make a strong covalent bond and ditch the hydrogens, so do the excess hydrogens go into the abyss of solution (example water)? Does cysteine then make the solution acidic because its giving more protons into the solution? Thank you.
