Bathsheba wasn't on the rooftop. King David was, and the reason he wasn't supposed to be there is he was supposed to be at war with his men. She was at a public bathing fountain, minding her own business, the reason that detail is included in the story is to point out that King David wouldn't have fallen into temptation in the first place if he had been where he was supposed to be attending to the Kings business.

When I was 18 y.o. I started reading the Bible. Without any guidance. After 10 months, one day I was reading It while alone in a forest, and God gave me a revelation. I gave all of me to Him and was changed right there, I was born again.

I had a pastor years ago that would say "it's easier to witness to a heathen than someone who was screwed up by the church". I see that happening here with Michelle Dowd. Her experience has warped her view of the Bible.

I went to a private Christian school and I remember being taught the story of Bathsheba in the 2nd grade. I specifically remember as a kid thinking it was weird her name was Bathsheba and she was taking a bath.

The story of David, whom was the only man that was called out by God as a man after my own heart; is to show us, "hey, everyone falls." We are in a fallen world. It just goes to show why we need the redemption and saving that Jesus shed his blood for.

Uriah didn't sleep with his wife out of loyalty to David. It was out of loyalty for his fellow soldiers. Uriah spoke of him eating and drinking with the king, also possibly laying with his wife while his fellow soldiers were dying in combat. That's why he refused.

This girl thinks the church is trying to “hide” the story of David and Bathsheba?…. What? 🤦‍♂️

She is of the world and is espousing what the world thinks. She needs the LORD. We need to pray for both of them for salvation of their souls. Shalom!

one of my favorite stories is when the prophet nathan told king david about the rich man that stole the poor man's little lamb and king david was angry and said punish the rich man and the prophet nathan said you are the rich man of great king for you stole your soldiers wife and had him killed to cover it up and king david cried because even a king can't hide sin from God

That is literally one of the first stories I heard about in the beginning of my conversion.
In a small town in brazil.
The moral of Davids story is his heart.
Although he was an adulterer and murderer he repented.
That does not mean that God did not punish him, but still did not abandon him.

Ecclesiastes is one of the most beautiful pieces of writing I have ever read…it is poetry indeed.

Now I’m 73 y.o. and i still read the Bible. Over the years I’ve had 4 more supernatural experiences of God. The last one was 5 years ago, and although I didn’t have any bodily sensations that time, it was amazing too! God gave me a vision, and It has deeply affected me. Praise God! Thank you Jesus!!!

This is a well known story, not like it's a secret.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I really care about Rogan's faith. He isn't afraid to explore and think deep. Your commentary is concise and spot on. Thank you.

When someone says the Bible contradicts its self you know they don’t understand the Bible.

David's sins were handled front and center in the book of Romans, where Paul uses David's own words/confession from Psalms 32 to teach the doctrine of justification, the covering of sins by the blood of Christ without the work of man. *[Rom 4:6-8 KJV] 6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, 7 [Saying], Blessed [are] they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. 8 Blessed [is] the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.*

It's only because we haven't felt the true horror of humanity's depraved State or the radioactive implications of it's aftermath YET we have the opportunity to discuss the nuances of Biblical history. The Earth is a violent place. Our oceans have insulated us from it but tragically can no longer do so. Our time of peace is running out. The Bible is like the Doomsday clock, reminding us of this. We mock it's teaching and advice to our own peril. Matthew 23v 37 and 38

Joe has never bothered to read the Bible yet tells us how we should “frame” the stories? I know a lot of smart people who are experts on the Bible without ever reading it. I’ve studied the Bible every day for six years and feel like tiny fish swimming in an ocean of wisdom, depth and meaning.
