To me the show ended at 4.. season 5 was so painful that they don't even acknowledge hanson and harry ioki's existence. And it felt like a failed spinoff.. they could have brought back Richard Greco. He was no depp but I remember he was popular.

Johnny Depp's issues with the series and wanting to get out of the series is pretty well known. I'm actually curious to know why Dustin Nguyen also left the series after the 4th season as well.

As a result of their departure after the 4th season, the 5th season became inconsistent. First, in order to use Johnny Depp's image on the DVD packaging for seaon 5, the last episode of season 4 became the first episode of season 5. Then we have 2 episodes where only Hoffs and Fuller appear with the new guy, Garrett (reprising his role from an earlier episode where Penhall was working with Internal Affairs to bust a group of corrupt cops) and an FBI agent named Rocky.

After those 2 episodes, Garrett and Rocky disappear and are never seen or mentioned again. Penhall returns and they are joined by McCann. A few episodes later, Penhall's brother Joey joins the squad, then shortly afterward, Doug leaves the series. I'm pretty sure his departure from the show is why he didn't appear in those first 2 episodes with Garrett. They feel like they were rushed to be made after the series had wrapped, and they realised they were 2 episodes short, so they got the only 2 actors that were still available from the previous seasons and brought Garrett back since the episode he appeared in showed him joining the Jump Street department.

I'm sad to hear that. I hope it's not true. I'm sure he is talking about some of his other parts like Jack after movie number 3 lol. I loved 21 Jump Street, the title song, /music, comedy, action, the whole cast. The best part of the movie was the cameo.

The Show was good until they started to have the Charlie Angels treatment I can understand why Johnny Depp did it but he should have left before that episode where they were locked with rapists
