15 Embarrassing Scenes Johnny Depp Had To Film

When you’re sailing the seven seas, things can’t get a bit messy! Johnny Depp had his fair share of slip-ups, flubs, and embarrassments when filming all the movies in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
One of his all-time most awkward experiences on set involved kissing a much younger co-star. We’re talking half his age, younger. Then there was some improv that went haywire - but it happened to be a complete genius at the same time. The actor caught everyone on set totally off guard in an embarrassingly wild improv - but the camera wound up loving it and it was kept in the movie.
Memorizing all those lines is hard work, so Depp had to have a little bit of help on set. It came in the form of an earpiece and a sound engineer who was feeding him lines throughout. It didn’t always help him though since the actor still lost some lines, especially when it came to names. To be fair, he had some unique ship and character names to keep track of. As much as knowing the lines is important, being able to say them presents an extra struggle for all involved! The actor missed his mark a few times - including once when he had a sword in hand and let’s just say, it was an awkward time on set for everyone - especially his scene partner! Seems to me that this video had more to do with shedding a bad light on Johnny than being embarrassing scenes. Do you really believe he's the only actor that flubs his lines. I believe the only one he was truly embarrassed about was kissing Keira.

He was under a tremendous amount of stress during these movies. When You're under a lot of stress your memory suffers and getting older doesn't help. But stress is a big one. He still did a fantastic job and I applaud his work in Pirates! These movies will always be loved years from now!❤

I wish, if people are going to do a “report” on Johnny Depp, they could do their homework and get their facts right! Johnny used to rewrite a lot of his lines before going on set, and so his sound technician would just feed him the new lines, he had just written, through an earpiece. It kept the scene fresh and often surprised his costars.

He was going through rough times and this shows the effect it had on him. We'll never know what really happened between the two of them because of lawyers. I'll never stop being a fan of Johnny Depp.

I don't understand why some ppl speak abt Johnny using an aid/earpiece in a pessimistic way. If he did use a device on set, he sure wldn't be the first.. Many!! ..Actors/Actresses have & use these as I write this very comment.. Also, a large # of them used other methods to asst via recalling lines, such as flashcards, etc. The shooting schedule for Pirates was not only lengthy w/ long work hours but the script, just for "Sparrow" alone was tedious & complex. The completed films are well done but do not show the entirety of hard work that was actual done during filming. If anyone lacks appreciation for this, maybe they shld visit filming locations. Certainly, it does change one's perspective rather quickly. P.S. I appreciate all of yr input. *Addition - I am aware JD was reported to be listening to music via earpierce on filming location. I feel this was a desperate tactic, by AH legal team, to attempt to question his acting capabilities & competence. The annoying, demeaning interjections/digs that AH & her team said abt JD w/ ery given opportunity was a poor attempt to make him appear unstable due to drug & ETOH ab*se. At the same time, they tried to downplay AH's drug & ETOH ab*se. The epitome of projecting at its finest.

Just so all know.
When he goes to hospitals or sits with kids and so on. It’s because he has direct knowledge of the heart break.
His daughter at a young age was very sick and money and power did nothing to help him out at that time. He realized as his daughter was fighting to live parents would sit and wither away during these times. When he visits not only does the child smile the parents hearts are warmed because for that second there child has forgot about the pain. Cancer or maybe death.
Since he’s out now he can’t dress up and visit kids etc.

I think this video of 'embarrassing' moments is grossly exaggerated.. hes an actor and played the role as directed.. simple as that

Well, according to his sound engineer's testimony on the stand, the reason for the earpiece was because he would make significant changes to the script the morning of the shoot, and the engineer would feed those last minute changes to him as well as keept music playing in his ear throughout shooting.

Correction the scene with Depp and the jar of dirt, when he fell it was real. Unplanned completely, but because it was perfect for the scene they kept it because it amplified his character

I've seen the kissing scene in a few clips and was surprised the prodecers allowed this, and automatically thought he must be feeling very awkward and conflicted about this scene. Having heard him talk so lovingly about his daughter and being such a protective and doting father of her, I would think it would have been be pretty uncomfortable for him.

No lines were fed to him via earpiece-it was testified in trial that his sound engineer was playing MUSIC. It makes sense-his character was partly based on Keith Richards.
