A quick review and comparison of my Husqvarna 55 Rancher and my Stihl MS 260 Pro. Both purchased used: the Stihl about 5 years ago, and the Husky about 8 years ago. I start them, cut a few cookies in dry hard maple, then give my opinion.

Thanks Hayes. When I bought my first saw it was between a Husky and a Stihl. With all of the research I did they came up even in everyway. Husky basic parts seemed to be more widely available in my area and I got a deal on a Husky 460 Rancher slightly used. That saw turned out to be a lemon, the dealer swapped me for a brand new one. It did get a new carb after 10 years or so, I've been very happy with it and couldn't recommend one over the other.

Ive had the ms 261 for about 12 years it replaced the ms 260. Both great saws. Ive never had an issue with my 261. I ran it for a few hrs yesterday. Always gets the job done
