*Coming up on having had this saw for a year....am a casual user and bought it to cut up sections for bowl blanks. Easy to start, **Bestfor.Garden** also recommend even after storage for a couple of months. Simple chain tension adjustment. Just cut up some 20" Osage Orange, including ripping bolts in half (at an angle). Like butter!*

I love my 455 Rancher! Never had any problems, and eats everything I throw at it!

I've been using a 55 Rancher for 16 years... Just bought the 362 cm with a 25 inch bar and absolutely love it...Been taking down white oaks 21-23 inches wide at the 4ft mark...This saw makes bucking a pleasure

The 362 has the anti vibration springs also very nice for long days cutting. I have even put a 32" bar on the 362 to fell a big tree and it handled it well.

I owned 2 Stihl saws. An MS250 and an MS360. I cut coastal oak, eucalyptus, pine and manzanita in foothills of San Diego. Loved those saws. They were stolen from me in Texas on my move to Florida. I now own a Husq. 450 and a 455. These 2 saws start a lot faster, 2 pulls choke and 2 pulls off. Like clock work. They have fallen and bucked at least 60 trees, magnolia, oak and southern yellow pine, after Hurricane Michael. The 455 has, by far, stronger torque than the 450 but really gets heavy near the end of the day. Both the Stihls and Husq. got the job done but make sure high throttle diesels on the Stihls or you'll cook the piston and jugs.

Im a stihl man but I just bought a used Husqvarna 455 Rancher, I got a good deal, I think, the man started it, started right up, $200, so we’ll see, this is my first Husqvarna

It was nice to see a comparison between Stihl and Husky that wasn't made by a fanboy for a change.
I have a 362 and I payed the extra mostly for the fact that it was magnesium instead of plastic, I know it probably doesn't make a lot of difference but still.

Just a suggestion. Loosen the chain when buckin and keep the rpm’s screaming. In my opinion you were “pushin” both those saws. The chips were dust. Just let the saw pull itself through the wood. But top notch editing brother! Great video!

I have the Stihl 661.... I do however use my battery Milwaukee 18V ALL the time. Light, no start up, no fumes. All depends on the job I guess. Great video for the people that pay attention and understands the premisses. Many seems not to.

If you use saws for a living or use them fairly often you will find out the difference between the two saws. Also why the extra $300 is money well spent. It's not about how fast a saw cuts, but about how reliable and trustworthy the saw is.

Considering the big price difference for the Stihl, and few seconds difference in time to cut, I would definitely chose the Husqvarna. If you stepped up a bit the Husqvarna 460 Rancher, the time to cut would likely be equal, and still a lot less money than what the Stihl costs. I think they are both great saws, but the price difference is huge, and the Stihl is not that much better. Nice video though. Thanks.

Keep your eyes out, I bought my ms362 recently for $400 and it had 6 hours on it. It is a well balanced and well behaved saw. I have slabbed with 36" bar and it does well if handled correctly - sharp chain, keep rpms up, let the saw cut without jamming it. Still running a 30 year old 029 that runs beautifully.

Howdy. Love the channel. Stihl MS362CM owner here, so far with one tank and change thru it I’m very satisfied. Runnin a 25in bar and it’s first big tests were a nice birch tree at least 20in diameter at the fattest part, as well as a blowdown oak or ash that was on the side of the road near my house. It’s been doing great even w the 25in bar, and a Stihl green chain. I love it so far, great power.

Just bought a husqvarna factory reconditioned 455 for $300. You can tell it was used but it works great!! I just cut up a maple that’s 26” diameter and a sycamore 38” diameter.

Hey Adam, good comparison ! I like the Stihl but I got the Husqvarna for 1/3 the cost of the Stihl. No problems with the Rancher and I don’t mind the extra time cutting. I keep my chain dressed with the Stihl 2 in 1 saw sharpener and it cuts like new every tank of gas. I like the change in my pocket too. Thanks for sharing with us.

I have used a Stihl 362CMQ for several years now. It cuts anything you need to cut so long as you don't hit too much hardware. I hated parting with the money for the M-Tronic carb and Quickstop right hand features, but they're worth every penny. If I had anything bigger I feel like fatigue would set in before a long day was over, especially if it's your third or fifth day. I use 16" and 25" bars (which are the shortest and longest recommended for that saw) with 3/8" full chisel chains. This saw obviously isn't a monster made for giant tree fellling, but I do just about all of my groundsman cutting with it. Even with the 25 bar on 20+" dead black locust, it takes some significant leaning on it before it'll bog down. I have cut up to 40" red oak with it and it still cut at least acceptably well although the tree was already down (uprooted in a storm). Just cut one side, wedge to prevent pinching, and cut the other. Maybe a bigger saw would've been better, but this did just fine. You gotta piss with the cock you've got after all. I haven't tried the Husq 455, but I'm sure it's more than capable if you're just doing firewood for a couple homes. Hell even a smaller Stihl 261 is plenty for most needs if you're wanting to do firewood while still having all the long-life pro grade materials. I think both saws from this video are more then enough for firewood. No reason to hate whatsoever one way or the other. Thanks for posting.
