Le Mans with Steve McQueen is the best car movie ever. Grand Prix is a close second.

Missing is the 1971 movie "Le Mans" with Steve McQueen and the 1966 movie "Grand Prix" with James Garner and a few real pilots like Graham Hill, Jack Brabham, Jim Clark, Jack Watson, Bruce McLaren, Jochen Rindt. Those were racing movies...

Of the list they gave Rush is number 1, but how can you have a list of racing movies without Gran Prix, Le Manns, and Winning is beyond me.

A list compiled by someone who knows very little/cares about/or has even been to an actual race. Rush & Ford Vs Ferrari are the only two movies that should be on this list. The Fast and The Furious series isn't even about racing and Days of Thunder used camera tricks to "Hollywood-ize" the movie. How about Le Mans and Grand Prix? The #1 priority that the list makers used? The movie had a fast car in it...or...a car. A cartoon? Really?

To Please a Lady, with Clark Gable and Barbara Stanwycke, is well worth seeking out. Features a lot of midget and sprint car racing in late 1940's USA, along with footage of the 1949 or 1950 Indianapolis 500.
