As a genuine Golf R owner, I must say that all this R line badging on Golfs nowadays is genuinely flattering, and it makes good sales sense for VW to go down this road. I can tell anyone looking in that this 1.5 litre hybrid is quicker than you would think. It is also very smooth and refined and economical. As a family daily driver, it is a superb choice. Not sure about the 18 inch wheel trims though.

Nice test of the new Golf 8. 👍Is the frequency with which the engine switches off while driving or at a red light influenced by the driving mode? I have the feeling that the engine switched on and off much more often when driving at night. Maybe because of the ECO mode? Thanks in advance for letting me know about that. Cheers. 😎

I buy next week a Golf 8 1, 5 150ps in Style. I hope the car is fine, last week i have make a test drive and it was so cool. It is not new, it is used with 19000km like new 😊

Those rims are so ugly... I mean, it can be worse, but not such as bad as those. Btw, i didn't realized it's just R-LINE...😂 When i saw manual adjustment for the seat, i was like this is not Golf R, no way. And later on, i realized it's R-Line.😂
