It’s so extremely unfortunate that Wendi & her mother are just out living life in south Florida.

Wendi being selfish about moving literally ruined so many lives, had a good father murdered, children without parents, and many people in prison for the rest of their life.
If all these others involved go down so should WENDI ( in my opinion of course)

Wendi is the only one who knew Danny's schedule that day. She told Charlie and he told Katie and she told Sigfrado.

In the midst of this terrible story the judge is a bright spot. He seems like such a sweetie and very fair

Can’t wait for cross examination tomorrow! I’m here for it. 👍🏻🙌🏻

`Peter, I have watched every minute of this trial except by noon today I couldn't take any more of Charlie's pathological lying. I can't watch any more of him UNTIL the State gets him. I want to see his demeanor change dramatically when the snarky attorney rips him to shreds. The defense has gone over things 10 times that should have been once, twice or possibly a third time to really emphasize a point. IMHO when you had to leave for the day, I was done BUT I could NOT miss your wrap-up. You are the best from a retired Prof Philly from Philly

So a cocky guy like Charlie, who loves to hear his own voice and only dates super models 25 years old or under, is afraid to go to the police about a murder he didn't commit and risk not only his life but his families lives? He turns to his almost ex gf for help from her murdering friends and just counts up $138k of money in his bedroom and promises to pay her $3k/month just on her word she knows who did it? Ok, sure, that makes total sense😂😂😂😂😂😂...i started my day dying to hear him speak and the rest of the day praying he would stop speaking. I hope Geoegia mops up the floor with him...the Markel's do not deserve this. Now i know why Charlie dated June...they likely score about the same on the IQ scale...she came in second on annoying testimony...flipping her hair with that blank, clueless look on her face really frosted my flakes

Charlie says that he didn’t want his mother talking about it on the phone or in her home because the police might be listening, and he didn’t want them to know he was being blackmailed … *BUT* he told her a few times in that very phone call that if she’s being threatened, she needs to go to the police. Within any lie, there are elements that can make sense. Otherwise people wouldn’t believe lies. It’s the parts that don’t make sense that have the most bearing. Meaning, of course he can come up with plausible reasons for some elements. But if there are major parts that don’t add up, then he’s being dishonest

I love how the surprise birthday party and the extortion from Latin King gang members over a murder for hire plot are given the same consideration for secrecy 😂

I think he was fine on the stand but the biggest problem is what exactly was he being blackmailed over? If he didn't do anything, why did he go along with the extortion so easily and not just to the cops. It just doesn't make sense. And why would he be buddies with someone whose friend was extorting him?

I must say I’m impressed with how he has a plausible answer for EVERY situation. But there’s something in his delivery that makes him unbelievable. Not just his delivery but Raushbaum’s too - it all seems way too contrived and perfect.

that was the most elaborate, crazy, fantastical, mythical Bull S@#% scripted story ive ever heard. I would have laughed if it wasn't such a senseless, horrific case.

This cross is going to be good. I hope so anyway. There are so many places she can poke holes in this story. Why would they kill his worst enemy in order to blackmail him? Why would he pay the blackmailers? According to him they have nothing on him, he's innocent. He also didn't put up much of a fight against this so called extortion. The same day of the murder she tells him he is being extorted, then suggests a payment plan, to which he immediately agrees to. Like why? His lawyers are doing a good job, but still not believable to me.

Thank you for taking the time to give some focused reactions to this trial.
The following is without prejudice to all involved. Watching this from the Uk - I am quite astonished that the court bailiffs are allowed to chew 'gum?' in an active courtroom; one even standing behind the witness chair area smiling and chewing with his mouth open (yuk - lack of manners and respect for the court of America). The judge, although clearly learned about his job, has cracked the odd joke and even been chuckling on several occasions (a man is on trial for murder and may lose his freedom for the rest of his life, chuckling etc seems to me out of place and inappropriate no matter the guilt or innocence of the defendant).

Charlie's defense team during cross examinations of the state's witnesses had absolutely nothing to come back with imho. The golden witness - Katie/Kaddie - was a staggering missed opportunity in my view. All the defense could say was "you lied under oath" something Katie admitted immediately to the state's first couple of questions. He then just listed lies she had told and Katie kept repeating her answer. I am fairly sure any intelligent jury member would have thought the defense a little crass in repeating over and over something Ms B had admitted to (I know I was getting annoyed - yes she lied she is now serving LIFE without parole - move on and link/lay the ground for the upcoming story of Charlie's). The defense must know what Charlie was going to testify and yet not a word about extortion or what Charlie said Katie had told him (it was her fault, she had told 'a friend' who then took it upon himself to travel approximately 400 miles each way to kill someone without actually knowing if he was going to be paid. PLEASE!!!!)
Now all the defense seems to have is concentrating on this incredible story that has suddenly arisen and the Bump (which I understand was to try to get the Adelson family to talk about the crime of 2014). At this rate the defendant's prayers (at least that is what I thought he was doing just before taking the stand) will not be answered and he will be spending rather a long time incarcerated.

It doesn't make sense why Tuto and Tato wouldn't just rob Charlie since he had the money, the code talking and them not going to the cops makes me not believe him.

So let me get this straight, these three thugs kill Charlie’s brother-in-law, and then they come to Charlie of all people in the family and extort him. But wait, why would they extort him if he had nothing to do with his brother-in-law‘s death? What leverage could they possibly have over Charlie that would cause Charlie to feel that he had to pay them anything let alone fear for his life. Why was he the chosen one? Riddle me that and then vote guilty.

He did better on the stand than I was expecting. Lots of holes in this theory but some of his testimony gave me a reason to pause. I'm interested in hearing cross tomorrow.

Thanks for covering this case, Peter. I’ve watched every trial pertaining to Dan Markel so I’m not even close to impartial but appreciate your thoughts on how this direct examination went. Can’t wait to see Georgia tear this apart tomorrow!

I was watching the live at work and when he was talking about how he knew she wasn't involved because she kept working and was always broke, I wanted to ask him who he thinks lives the high life off 3k a month, especially with kids.
