Basically - whatever color lens, use that color bulb
Red lens for brake lights - use red bulb
(same for amber- turn signals and white- reverse light)

Theese baloon-shaped (indescendant) bulbs are not Halogen bulbs! Real Halogen-bulbs have a tube like shape (like head-lamp-bulbs). They are named after the halogen-gas, which standard bulbs don't have.

You're testing it wrong. You should point the assembly towards the camera. Guarantee halogen would have been brighter

I don't want to seem disturbing others in the highway so I use halogen bulbs so that at the highway I don't blind cars that are behind me at night 😊
