Some space scientists at ASU's Interplanetary Initiative analyzed the chemical composition of the center of the Milky Way galaxy and determined that it would smell like rum raspberry. They took this and made a lip balm that smells like the center of the galaxy. I have a tube on my desk. Based on the description of the Coca-cola flavor, perhaps this is based on a similar analysis.

When you mentioned comets, I looked up the etymology, and it's originally from Greek "aster kometes" meaning "long-haired star". So the whole "kind of star" thing has pedigree.
