As people have pointed out (Thanks!) - Intel has published RCP not RRP, which isn't exactly the same. Expect prices to be around that mark, with launch prices higher. Newegg have the 13900k at $659, though this could change 🧐

Looks like the 13700K + last gen motherboard + DDR4 is going to be amazing performance for the money

So many PC components come out soo fast. Its already confusing knowing what to buy as a 1st time builder but when the market is saturated with even more new components i dont know what to buy or if its worth investing in the latest tech. Im also a sucker to have the best and top spec in everything 😅

I'm still rocking an i7 4770k and pared a 3070 with it a few months ago. I'm waiting patiently to see which new CPU to go with. Currently eyeing the 13700k or the 7700x. Leaning towards the AMD because of going to one of their 3D cpus in a few years since AM5 will be around for a while and LGA1700 won't.

Intel or AMD doesn't really matter it's gonna come down to the GPU for 2 and 4K gamers like myself...

I would say, if you have an AM4 MoBo and Games are your most important thing, simply buy an 5800X3D and your are mostly more or less on par with Zen4 and 12900/13900K . If you are a Gamer and want to upgrade but need multicore Performance too, wait for Zen4 X3D .., this Time not only the 8 Core will get V-Cache , the 16 Core as well ( i guess ) . Raptorlake is not worth the upgrade from Alderlake, the lower non K I5 and I3 will be even Alderlake Dies, only the 13600K is still Raptorlake . You only get some E-Cores more, thats all .

Those graphs were suspect AF not to mention 12th gen outperforming 13th gen in some of their gaming benchamrks. Will wait for independent reviews and I think it's probably wise to wait for the 3D chips from AMD early next year at any rate.

First time PC buyer/builder and your videos are SO helpful, approachable, and informative! You're definitely making this process worlds better (and more enjoyable). Thank you!

This was good information, Marcus. I was going to jump into the new Ryzen 7000 CPU but I'm going wait until Intel benchmarks come out before deciding.

Currently on an i7-6800K with RTX 3080 on 4K LG C1 48". Will be upgrading PC and have everything ready apart from mobo and CPU. Either way I already bought 6000Mhz DDR5 ram so once the benchmarks come out I will either go Z790 mobo and Intel 13th gen or AM5. Am leaning towards Intel atm. Would have gone AMD if they had a 7800X3D as I'm sure most people would have done.

I have ordered the 13700K for 539 Euro here in Germany. At the moment i use an 12400K. But I don`t buy a nvidea this generation, it is too expensive for me. So I think about to give intel arc 770 16gb a chance. A new player can help to bring the price for gracas down.

What really sets 12th and 13th gen aside from amd is how the scheduling works. Those ecores running windows and other tasks like discord or streams maybe some music in the background will make a difference. Hardware unboxed went over it and said it doesn’t make a difference but they also put themself in a hugely gpu bottleneck position instead of competitive gaming like call of duty and csgo. It will make a huge difference playing competitive where you turn down graphics to get the most fps to lower latency as much as possible. My ryzen build can see up to 150fps drops in peak fps alone because it doesn’t have a core scheduler to separate cores just for gaming and it loads the cores handling the game with other applications where my alderlake sees single digit loses. Granted that 150fps drop is a extreme case in csgo but it still exists and will increase latency. Weather or not that matters to you is all that matters but I prefer every chance I can get to play better.

Sticking with my 11700k and 3080 for now, runs perfect at 1440p 🎉

I doubt they are in trouble, they still have 3d v-cache in the back pocket. Also intel seems scared to actually compare raptor lake to Ryzen with ddr5.

Still rocking with monsters from 2013: gtx 690, i7 4930k, asus rampage iv gene, and 1866mhz ddr 3 @1080p 😄. Gonna upgrade all that with 2000usd used component next year 😂.

I'm still team AMD for it, and will be picking up the ryzen 7 7700X in the spring when I get around to building my PC. mostly because i want it to be as future-proof as possible and I can afford to. This being the last generation for that intel socket but the first for the AMD socket is swaying me.

I don’t think amd is worried. Their 5800x3d is still killing it next to the 7000 series. Might see a 7800x3d? I do enjoy how each are going different ways for performance glad they are both going blow for blow

I run a 12600k without a graphics card and it does everything I want and at a good speed. Also it uses very little power so saves on electricity bills.

Another wicked video that’s super helpful. I’d never think of reading the small print. And it’s nice to have a fellow Brit channel so pricing is more accurate.
As a budget builder I’m going with a i3 12100f and rx 6700 build and see what’s going to happen but I’d expect to upgrade to i5 13th when the price is right and upgrade GPU once I see how the market settles in that market. At least I’ll be gaming while the battle goes on.
