I have a creepy room in my house. It’s called my sisters room.

I think one of the most disturbing stories here is the second to last one, where a dad and his friend discovered a hidden room in his daughter’s bedroom and an even darker secret of hers. Geez, imagine discovering that your own child is or was literally plotting to murder someone. That would be both horrifying and heartbreaking.

I seriously hope that daughter gets the help she needs.

The most disturbing part of the last story is that the landlord was apparently cool with letting his own brother live somewhere with no food or plumbing.

I love how Joe decides to just call it a night after hearing a man talking to himself and laughing like the joker and saying “it’s time.”

Yep, sounds like a perfect time to sleep it off.

That room behind the bookcase could have also been a previous owner's kink dungeon, which can understandably have reason to be hidden in case parents or family want to see your house etc. Honestly I think that's really cool that they found a secret room! I'd do that room up and make it a nice secret cozy room or something. Or a saferoom.

Just imagine if there was someone secretly hiding a room when if you’re alone. It would be a terrifying thing to think about.

I enjoy when there's real photographic evidence to accompany a story

Tip from the top, if you hear people talking in your walls call the cops. Don't investigate on your own.

there is a sliding glass door right next to the bookshelf in story #2. How do you not notice the exterior wall outside and wonder "hmmm, Whats behind this wall in my house?" That room looked huge, how do you not notice a large chunk of square footage missing from your home lol.

The idea that something happened to the guy who found the blocked basement door is terrifying. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED

I found a staircase behind kitchen cabinets on all 3 floor of our old house. All leads to a basement room with a lock on the other side. Never used that staircase, nor open the lock to see behind that basement door.. no lights, or windows in that staircase. Always creeped me out. Always afraid to look up the stair, might see an old woman at the top of the stairs looking down at me like in those horror movies.

These stories remind me of my first apartment. I rented it out sight unseen in September 2021. It was in an old building that had maybe once been an old house and it was on the second floor. The day I moved in, I realized there was an extra door in the apartment I hadn’t noticed in the listing. I assumed it was a closet, but it turned out it was the entrance to the attic and it connected to my neighbor’s apartment. Looking up the stairs, there was a light and a single chair at the top facing down. I never went up there. The door didn’t lock. I was lucky to have such a great neighbor, but when I first moved in, he actually seemed to avoid me so this whole situation didn’t sit well. Of course, this was during the pandemic, so it wasn’t too difficult to explain away why he would do this. I wound up placing heavy furniture in front of it until my landlord finally put a lock on the door. I kept hearing footsteps upstairs, but assumed for months that it was my neighbor maybe storing stuff up there. One day, my boyfriend was with me and we heard footsteps running up and down more than usual. Someone suddenly started pounding on the door and wall and turning the doorknob. I moved out shortly after. I have no idea who was pounding on that door.

The one with the girl's note is so sad. As someone who was that severally depressed and homicidal in high school I know that helpless feeling she was experiencing. I also know how fucking amazing life can be now and how much I have completely changed to an unrecognizable human being. I pray for everybody going through those times and hope they keep believing it can get better bc it truly does
