I’ve spent many hours looking for what “useless” switches do in apartments I used to rent, one was that the bulbs just needed to be changed (in wall shelf), the other one controlled 2 ceiling fans, It turned out that it was a weirdly wired 3-way(one was hidden away for some reason), the switches need to be at the same position for the actual chain switch at the fan to work.
I’m still trying to figure out a 4 bang at the backdoor of my sister’s house though, switch 4 doesn’t seem to do anything yet
