Utilizing sklearn mutual information and statsmodels granger causality test, we take a look at Government Spending, Supply Side Oil Inventory, Fed Funds Rate, 10 year yield, M2, Deposits to determine which of those variables gives us the most amount of information about CPI/Inflation and what variable give us the highest forecastability of CPI/Inflation.

Most valuable video! The data, the presentation... it'd be great if you can make code/charts bigger so it's readable on mobile and can reach a bigger audience (I see some free space to the right that gives me hope)

For special eras I would expect to see CPI rises (especially) more strongly grangercause (lead) rises in GovSpend. Typically for hyperinflation periods. Thing is, when did that ever occur in the USA? Never? Maybe just after the two OPEC price hikes in the 1970's? (Was not hyperinflation though, but should give the same signal lead/lag). Maybe just after COVID hit? I think you'd see it elsewhere if the data is available, such as Wiemar or currently maybe Turkey, Venezuela? Just hypotheses you understand.
