Eaton’s commitment to producing safe products has led us to partner with UL Solutions. Here we discuss the UL Certification process for existing products, new innovative solutions, and answer common safety compliance questions.

UL Solutions is an independent science company known for testing and certifying electrical and fire safety equipment. Widely recognized by their UL labeling on products, UL Solutions tests products to verify if they comply with industry safety standards.

Tom Domitorvich, Vice President Technical Sales, explains that Eaton designs products to meet safety compliance and installation requirements wherever they are sold.

Tom is joined by Michael Slowinske, UL Solutions Engineering Director, to discuss how UL Solutions provides testing, inspection, and certification for electrical and fire safety equipment.
Michael explains:
• How does UL certification process work
• UL certification for innovative design products that are new to the market
• How UL Solutions continues to monitor products in the market to ensure manufactures continued compliance

Tom then goes on to answer some common question we receive, such as:
• Why does Eaton take the lead in new UL Standards and certifications?
• Why would Eaton develop a new standard for a product when it’s not required?
• What is the difference between a UL Listed product and a UL Recognized product?
• What happens when I modify UL Listed equipment in the field?

Thank you for watching one of our many educational videos on the topic of power systems. Schedule a visit to one of Eaton's Power Systems Experience Centers in either Pittsburgh or Houston to learn more!
