Gorilla Tape vs T-rex Tape | Compare Duct Tape | Review

For years i've always kept a roll of black and white Gorilla Duct Tape in my shop. The rolls usually last me about a year. This time when i went to buy them, the prices seemed high. After looking into it more, it seems like the prices fluctuate and i happened to see it when it was high.
I noticed that a lot of people were debating between buying Gorilla and T-rex tape. I had never tried T-rex, so i gave it a try, buying both kinds.
After reviewing them they are extremely similar. If you were blindfolded it would be difficult to tell the difference. It basically comes down to preference. Gorilla tape is a little less sticky, but thicker and more stiff. T-rex tape is very sticky, but thinner and more bendable.

I feel like the T-Rex is better overall because it seems to still be thick enough that it's better than DuckTape brand but it's much sticker than Gorilla. I've had many problems with Gorilla in the past with getting it to stick or stay stuck to various surfaces. I am hoping with using T-Rex more often moving forward that I won't have this problem as often.
I am however interested to see how wear tests go over time to see how long T-Rex tape holds out to aging and weather elements to see if it works as well or better than Gorilla or if it dries up and cracks off leaving a powder mess everywhere like DuckTape and other non-Gorilla brand duct tapes do.

I respect your opinion but I would rather the t-rex tape over the gorilla tape I have never had a good experience with gorilla tape .All said and done it's a personal preference

Has anyone tested on camping tarps and let it out for days in the heating sun and rain and how it holds up after?

How can you call this a review when you didn't try these products on anything. I've never heard of giving a review on how well a tape pulls from the roll and how stiff it is🤔😂😂

Time will let you know the better tape. Trex is good for a quick cheap fix. Chances are you will only buy trex once if you do. Not a great long term product. Gorilla is a better long term product, for indoor and outdoor use. Flex seal is also a great alternative just fyi

trex is thick and tough, but gorilla tape clings alot better....the ends of the trex tape don't seem to stick, for some reason.

I will always choose the TRex tape it's stronger then the over priced gorilla tape in my opinion of course and definitely a smig thiner and stickier when using the gorilla tape I always end up using more then I should have to but it's all about personal opinion

3m is the only double sided tape I'll use. When it comes to tape then Gorilla tape is what I'll use

I've switched to TREX tape myself. It seems to hold longer. I used it on my RV window and it held the plastic on for several months. My son eve locked the keys inside and had to go in through that window. The tape actually restuck without using new tape.

I did the same thing you did today I bought Gorilla Tape but it went up in price 13 bucks for a roll in AutoZone and I seen the T-Rex Isis let me try that just got them today I buy it once a year put plastic around my windows which Gorilla tape for the winter but I'm going to go with the cheaper one

scraping old t-rex glue off whatever surface you're repairing will probably be rough
