Rename Whole Numbers

Numbers can be renamed in different ways. Students will represent numbers up to the hundred thousands using different combinations of ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousands, and hundred thousands. Knowledge of place value is critical. Specifically, the understanding that each place value is 10 times the one before (100 is 10 tens). Base ten blocks can be really help students form a concrete understanding of this very complex skill.
