Catching Beetles by Doing WHAT?! | Neat Trick to Find Rare Beetles and their Larvae

Want to catch super crazy beetles? We're going to be catching beetles using a super unexpected tool- and I'm going to show you the ins and outs of how to catch beetles using this BIZARRE technique!

Please don't use this technique on protected land. Whenever possible, try to leave nature the way you found it when you're done exploring. As this catch method is destructive, only use it when you have permission on private property or with proper permits. That being said- you can find some really neat beetles by cracking open logs-- check out Jason from the Insect Hunter's video detailing some of his awesome finds using this technique:

This is certainly a neat technique, it's outside of my normal bag of tricks but I might have to try it sometime. Great technical work with the graphics, I liked how you were able to show the cooler part of the log. I hope you're able to turn up some adult beetles with this technique one day!

I saw my first Stag Bettle in my work parking lot while walking. Very neat. We are near wood and farm land. I think I small lake/pond is 5 miles away where the CEO lives.
