Nokta Makro Legend: YOU ARE MISSING GOLD!

This was a big takeaway from testing 600-1000 objects on the Nokta Makro Legend. If you roll with the defaults you will miss some gold. Numbers 1-11 are notched out when you turn on the detector. I would have missed some fat gold if I hadnt used all metal mode.

I am a treasure hunter. So in addition to metal detecting, I go mudlarking at sites such as Dead Horse Bay. Think of mudlarking as metal detecting without a metal detector.

My most important series is called Becoming A Millionaire Metal Detecting. I am trying to monetize my favorite hobby in order to do it more in the future. I started detecting at age 12 in 1975 ...machine i had was an all metal simple machine - a step up from a Radio shack one.
I hunted with all metal machines (no discrimination ) pretty much until I bought my Whites XLT in 1991
When I got into water hunting for the most part in 1991 - I bought a Whites PI - all metal machine
I now use a Fisher CZ21S and even though it has discrim. - I hunt in all metal and try and dig it all
I cant even count the amount of gold Ive found over the yrs where hunters using discrim. - usually cranking their discrimination.
especially white gold. When i was around 18 yrs old i went to a drained pond that was hammered by tons of guys...place looked like a battle ground and as i walked onto the beach bunch of guys were leaving and laughed "good luck...dont think youre gonna find much"
I startred finding pulltabs all over that they had missed due to discrim. Long story short - at end of day I had 3 white gold rings - like a dozen nickels and 50 pulltabs ...nuff said

I live in the Los Padres national forest, when I receive my legend I’ll be using it 60% in the mountains here, 20% at beach, and 20% in the desert. I’ll probably dig everything 😂

Right on brother, thank you, I've been just getting frustrated watching people show how they can test out metal detectors and show them finding garbage, I don't want to find garbage I want to find gold and I want to know how well the metal detector can detect gold

Well then. Kinda explains why I haven't found any gold! I average 2 gold rings a month and other gold items. Since using the Legend I have found 0 gold! I've found over 30 rings, tungsten, silver, copper, titanium. I've found necklaces and bracelets. But no gold. I even have my setting notched out up to 9. gold. Even in the user forums and media pages you don't see hardly any gold found with the Legend. I'm ready to sell this machine. Thanks for the great vids. Keep up the great work.

This is why you primarily hunt in all metal mode!.That is, if you don't want to miss any gold!

I always enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work. In saying that this video is a little misleading. What I mean is that anyone who has detected awhile knows if looking for gold, that you need to dig all numbers that low. After legend came out, most know to set tone break at 8 if that is what you are looking for. Even on the nox, although may register low in non ferrous end, you wouldn’t dig it unless you were looking for gold anyway. Same as setting tone break in legend. Most also know, at the beach, dig most everything. I have both no 600 and legend. I was looking specifically for a gold ear ring one time, and it wouldn’t even pick it up in the nox when I was trying to get vdi off of ear ring that wasn’t missing. I think they all have potential of missing gold, and I think that is where learning to set each particular machine up for what you are looking for comes into play. I’ve just ordered the legend, I’ve been using the simplex for about 5 months. Before that had a Garett ace 400. The simplex best the breaks off that. How will I like the legend. Thanks for all you do man. I follow you big time. Names Anthony I’m in Virginia.

Thanks Merrill. Hopefully Nokta Makro sees, this video. There will be software updates to compensate for many issues. I do not fault Nokta Makro unless it chooses not to make software changes. It is a new detector and it needs to have the bugs worked out.

I'm two years into the metal detecting hobby. I have an Equinox 800, Garrett Ace Apex, and recently sold my Nokta Simplex+. Is not that I didnt like the Simplex, just neede to free up funds for another purchase. Which brings me to the question I have for you, I'm considering a Nokta Legend. Originally I wanted the Equinox 900, but after watching your videos I think staying with the 800 is OK. So, next is line is the legend. So much value for the money. I know Noktas can be quirky but I worked through that with the Simplex. What do you think? Is my money better spent on Legend or 900? I would obviously go with the latest legend with 12x9 coil as I do alot of beach hunting.

Very true I run mine at 8 noticed it was rejecting some good stuff at 11 great video brother.
