Not trying to be negative, but Freen is not assuming the role of a devoted boyfriend for Becky, the correct phrasing is the role of a devoted girlfriend. Gender has nothing to do with caring for someone, both men and women can do it and you should not assign a gender to a particular behavior. Pulling out someone's chair, opening their water bottle is not exclusively a boyfriend/male behavior just like being sweet or clingy is not exclusively a behavior atributed to women, men can be like this too. They are 2 women and neither one of them has to be label as more masculine or as "the man" in the relationship because none of them are, they both identify as women.
