Sony A7C: Best Value Camera in 2023 (Why I'm Not Upgrading to A7C ii)

Best camera bargain in 2023, as a lot of people are upgrading to A7C ii. But the orginal A7C is still a great value camera, unmatched combo of quality and performance.
In this video I wanted to explain why I am NOT upgrading to the Sony A7c ii. I think the sony A7C still holds up in 2023. Its a great hybrid camera, and does a lot things just right. Most camera YouTubers don't get that.

All these youtubers who claim to be pros got a free invitation to Sony's A7Cii and A7CR Launch in Utah. The reason they all say good stuff is because they must. They receive free stuff and goodie bags, plus they have the chance to be the first people to make some new videos for these camera. The new cameras are overpriced and not worthy of an upgrade at all. Don't listen to people on the internet ever do your research and think!

I have both 7C and 7C II, and I can tell you they are completely two worlds. Especially if you use photoshop, you'll immediately observe the difference when you touch the photos. The details and information in the files are different. 7C II writes more detail in a way which are easier to touch the photos, especially in darker positions of the photos. It'll be much much more mature when you adjust the details.

I completely agree! On Facebook somebody asked what the best value camera is for under $1500, and it's easily the a7c or a6700, but because the A7C is full frame and doesn't overheat, I recommended the A7C. I can imagine it could only become more popular now that it's even more affordable. All these kids who are trying to get the Fuji xv100, should be picking up the A7C and a pancake lens.

Nice videos. There are 2 key areas that the original A7c is BETTER than the A7c2. 1) Significantly better battery life. We’re talking about 700+ pics with the LCD vs. around about 500 pics on the A7c2. Sony is not updating the FZ100 battery anytime soon, so each iteration of the cameras will have worse battery life than the previous (especially given newly added and improved features - AF, IBIS, higher mega pickles, etc.). 2) Better buffer able to capture more RAWs and JPEGs. The latter is less of a concern. Also, the 24MP of the original A7c just seems to be an ideal size. 6000x4000 is a nice rounded easy to remember resolution. File sizes are manageable, smaller and faster to transfer via wifi the Imaging Edge Mobile app.

YouTube reviewers often forget there are many photographers that do not do video with their photo gear...I am one of them...I choose a pair of A7c bodies that do every thing necessary for good street stills. Cheers.

How about the 5 year old Canon Eos R? 30mp with solid low light handling. Similar level of autofocus. Higher resolution LCD and EVF. Compact lens availability. Protected sensor. AND same number of card slots!😂

WTF. You don't want to upgrade because selling is a hassle? You just put the ad on, put your price and wait for the right guy to say: agreed! I don't get this issue. If you are not in a BIG hurry to sell there's really nothing easier than selling you stuff.

Really thinking about picking one up used. Either the c or a 6600. It would be nice for an everyday/travel/hiking camera. I haven't purchased a camera brand new since the 5dii came out what like 13 years ago or something lol. I don't recall ever buying a lens new either. I always stay a few generations behind. I'll use my Riii's until they crap out.

Sir I m a physician interested in photography, initially i planned to get sony RX 10 mark 4 as its a bridge camera with fixed lens, many of my friends dissuade me as its an old model, they are telling me to get a full frame camera, after watching youtube videos im thinking of getting sony a7C, is that a good choice, i ve no intention to upgrade, is it possible to use that just with 2 lenses?pls opine.
