28-60 is one of my favourite. Video on gimbal is not so heavy, photos with flash at f/6.3-8 are super sharp. I am planning to shoot an event with it this weekend, let’s see…

Hey Mark, I just switched to Sony from cannon. I love the 50mm cannon lens. I mainly bought the AC7 for travel vlogging and photography. I'm not loving the lit lens 28-60mm. Would you have a rec for a lens that's good for video/vloging?

I agree with the lenses you mention except that 28-60mm.. it made my photos feel flat and I had clarity issues with videos.. and when I got some prime lenses I didn’t go back to it

Hi Mark, just subscribed! I have a quick question for you. I was just gifted a Sony A7C w/no lens and I'm a total beginner. I'm looking for a fixed, pancake lens that will fit my A7C, and I liked your recommendation for the Samyang AF35/2.8 FE. Is there any other pancake lens that would fit my A7C, if so, I don't mind spending a few more dollars, just looking for a pancake size only. Thanks!

2:33 I bit the apple and bought the cheap, Sony, 50mm, F1.8 lens. Hands down, that is the worst lens I have ever owned! The auto focus was slow, noisy and missed half the time. Terrible! The images were soft and washed out. Didn’t even resemble full frame. I was so disappointed and frustrated with this lens. Even at f1.8 it still was mot great. The only redeeming thing was I only spent $150 on it and I got 1/2 my money back when I traded it to get a real 50mm, the Sony, f2.5, G. Night and day difference. The Sony 2.5 G was has excellent auto focus, beautiful clicky aperture ring, AF/MF controls, beautiful contrast and is sharp as a tack. I went from the probably the worst lenses to one of the best.

Hi, I have pre ordered a7cii. I am looking for compact lens. Video is my priority during personal family events or tours. I have already sony 50mm 1.8 and sigma 30mm 1.4 ( for my a6000). Now i am upgrading abruptly. I need one lena that will do 80-90% works. Everyone suggest get a 35mm. Then i have 30-35-50?? What a weird combo! I do not like the Rokinon/Samyang 35mm 2.8, I got (2023) the Sony Carl Zeiss Sonnar 35mm 2.8 T* ZA used for US $215 (taxes included) which is much better built and I can recommend it. I will also recommend the Sony Zeiss Sonnar 55mm 1.8 T* which I saw used ar my local store for US$ 350 in good condition (there were 6 of those !), there also was one which was beaten up at US$ 175.
