I love my Small Rig Folding Tool Kit (I have 2) one for my camera table and one for my bag. Tip: If the tools are too loose (or tight) for you, you can adjust the tension by adjusting the tiny screws at the top/bottom of the kit.

The idea with the stickers on the batteries is great.
And I had kind of the same journey when it comes to the capture clip. I bought it in 2019 for a trip to Southeast Asia, to mount the camera to my huge backpack. But I thought it was clumsy to use, so I didn’t.
Nowadays I use it a lot in combination with the pro pad. It mounts onto your belt and puts the capture clip lower and rotates it 90 degrees so you can slide it in from the top.

And another tip for the capture clip: you can double lock the system by rotating the unlock pin. 😉 that way you can’t release the camera by hitting it accidentally. Thank me later 😉

Another use of it is for my GoPro. I attach the clip to the strap of my shoulder bag when I do street photography. That way I get POV footage without looking like an idiot with a GoPro chest mount downtown 😉

A monopod with a mini tripod like the iFootage Cobra is really useful.
Very useful video, btw:)

I used to have a rig that held my camera on one side of my chest. I got one that holds the camera in the center of my chest and it's way more comfortable. It's a must-have if you hike with a heavier camera or do photo shoots with more than one.

I was tempted by your PGYtech tripod 👏

Yeah the peak design base plate is the only baseplate that goes on my camera. I've rigged my gear where my camera can hang off a capture clip, attach to my tripod, attach to my mini tabletop tripod, and attach to my gimbal.

The last one was a little tricky to pull off, but the Ulanzi Falcam F38 x Peak Design baseplate combo thing came in some real big clutch.

I never want to put another baseplate onto my camera ever again.

I found a SmallRig cage useful, if not quite lightest. It helps protect body from dinks/scratches etc (lets me sell-on used bodies in better cosmetic condition) but also clips into any arca base system and can take a range of rig accessories to build a video-rig, pretty much as wanted for any shoot - ideal for hybrid workers. SmallRig multi-tool you show is also good and I use but sometimes but I still need a longer allen key as well, so it's not a complete replacement.

On filters the magnetic type are pretty good but you need good magnets. Not all are equal, IMO Maven are best, but expensive. I use their ND filters too as a much more compact filter than 4 x 5.65 inch video filters (I use those too but only on big matte-box rigged kit ie not suitable for small, discrete vid). Some swear by variable ND filters (eg Pola Pro one of better brands) I tried many diff types but all introduce some form of colour cast. Best IMO is to use a small range of magnetic Maven ND filters (ie true neutral density, with no colour cast).

Think Tank are good in bags/pouches etc. They do a small 2-battery pack = bit like the triple pack you showed but smaller, lighter - typically 2 sare OEM Sony batteries is more than enough for me on most Sony day shoots, If/when I need more (extensive rigging + sound kit etc) then I'd use V-mount cells (can also use to power so say 'portble' LED cob lights but that's stretching definition of light/portable.

I also use Peak design straps, clips etc but wouldn't touch their flimsy 'travel' tripod. Much better is a Falcam F-38 'Tree Root' model (circa 1.5Kg) well worth comparing against anything else you might use (I own about 10 pods and typically use 2- regularly - must sell a couple that don't get any use nowadays.

I never found the perfect bag either. So, own about 10 diff bags and use typically any one of about 4 (diff use scenerios - ThinkTank, Lowe, Tamrack, Peli). I think I need a sherpa/caddie/porter who will handle all my kit and be always ready with best lens etc - but as an amateur that's one accessory I can't afford to run ha ha.

What accessories do you actually REGRET buying? I have a fair few I could put here...

Hi! Great reviews. I watched reviews about Sony a7r 5, What should I buy better Canon p5 or Sony a7r 5? I have canon 5dm3 one old lens 24-105 of the first version. I want to switch to a mirrorless system. Canon is more comfortable in your hand, but I like the picture of Sony a7r 5. By autofocus, is Sony's video better than Canon's?

Empty batteries should be stored in the charger 😉

Imaging being so beat down as a country you can't even carry a multitool knife.
Medieval peasants were more free. Change my mind.
