The Fritzl case took places in a city where my aunt lives. Back then my dad once or twice even passed the house after he went with friends to a disco, of course not knowing what horrible thing took place there…

in 2008, when a woman named Elisabeth Fritzl (born 25 June 1966) told police in the town of Amstetten, Lower Austria, Austria, that she had been held captive for 24 years by her father, Josef Fritzl (born 9 April 1935). J. Fritzl had assaulted, sexually abused, and raped his daughter repeatedly during her imprisonment inside a concealed area in the cellar of the family home. The abuse resulted in the birth of seven children: three of them remained in captivity with their mother; one had died just days after birth at the hands of J. Fritzl, who disposed of his body in an incinerator and the other three were brought up by J. Fritzl and his wife, Rosemarie, having been reported as foundlings.

One of the horrible things about this case is the fact that it was her father, the man whom she was supposed to trust and have care for her! And the people who are like “oh it’s not that bad, I’ve seen worse” are horrible because imagine if you were her. Imagine if you had to live though the horrific things she did.

The Fritzl case emerged in 2008 when a woman named Elisabeth Fritzl (born 6 April 1966) told police in the town of Amstetten, Lower Austria, Austria, that she had been held captive for 24 years by her father, Josef Fritzl (born 9 April 1935). J. Fritzl had assaulted, sexually abused, and raped his daughter repeatedly during her imprisonment inside a concealed area in the cellar of the family home. The abuse resulted in the birth of seven children:] three of them remained in captivity with their mother; one had died just days after birth at the hands of J. Fritzl, who disposed of his body in an incinerator; and the other three were brought up by J. Fritzl and his wife, Rosemarie, having been reported as foundlings.
J. Fritzl was arrested on suspicion of rape, false imprisonment, manslaughter by negligence, and incest. In March 2009, he pleaded guilty to all counts and was sentenced to life imprisonment.

"every child deserves parents but not every parent deserves children"
God, I wish no child has the unfortunate luck to have a father like that

To be honest this and Junko's case are the two that really stick with me for different reasons but this 'father' was a demon in disguise. I sincerely hope the kids are doing well and Elizabeth finds some sort of peace.

This woman is smart. She purposely doesn't explain the case because if she doesn't explain it, more people will comment with their explanations, then people will reply to those comments, therefore, boosting the algorithm even more.

If i learned anything about crimes cases is one thing: whenever the case is called, know it is far more traumatizing than the name, and the more pour the name is, the worst the story

As an Austrian this one gets under my skin each time. Especially because I once had a friend whose dad actually knew Josef Fritzl...
