If she’s telling the truth or not, her rights were violated on many levels. The case was botched from the beginning.

They interrogate a minor without her parent and there's no video or audio recording? That's already suspicious.

What does a 15-year-old have in common with a 24-year-old? And why was she able to go and spend the night at this person house? That's where this need to start.

Her not being allowed to speak to an adult is violating her rights. She should be acquitted as a result of their incompetence.

Those grown bastards set her up thinking she wouldn't get much time. She didn't kill that lady

A lawyer in Texas needs to take her case pro-bono!!

The girl was still underage. They should not have question her without her parents or a lawyer

Why wasn’t the interview recorded? The police didn’t do it because they knew what they were doing is not right.

She deserves a new trial because she was underage at the time without a parent’s consent! Nobody fought for this poor girl!! Praying for her to come home🙏🏾🙏🏾

Moral of the story even 20 years later is to teach your kids to say, "Call my parents and i need a lawyer." thats the only conversation they need to be having with police.
Her case was mishandled, she deserve a retrial.

15 years old instructed a 24 years old on what to say is a joke. No one else was charged is a joke. The public defender is the biggest joke. All of this was just a mascarade. Poor little girl 😢

This is why you should tell your kids as early as 12 yrs old not to answer any questions from police until you talk to your parents or lawyer.

Her "friends" threw her under the bus. As a child, my parents instilled in me 1 Corinthians 15:33 - do not be misled, bad association spoils useful habits. Thank God 🙏🏾

A 15 year old being asked if she thought about having a lawyer with her is WILD. At 15, she should have never been with the police alone. Even if she was in on it she was a 15 year old who was railroaded by the justice system. Anyone who says they wouldn't be caught up in anything as a child is LIE!!!

This is why you always tell the truth regardless of who says what……

This is disgusting. A juvenile is never interrogated without a parent. I'm not surprised it's Texas . Praying someone will help her.
