great arrow build! i didnt even know about the spinning inserts.

i personally use a q-tip for cleaning the shafts insides. i fluff it up a little and for .204 shafts it works perfectly. you can try it if you want, cause you can get in deeper this way.

i shoot 3d archery and a long time i went with like a super light arrow setup for more speed. i got a 700gn setup on my recurve now with a 75 insert and a 300 field point. comes at over 22% foc and i love it! first time shooting a parcours i hit a bison at 70 yards first shot. such a sick setup!

Good video. I don't know about the spin-inserts, I'll leave that up to you and others. However, I would recommend to do 2 things in arrow building to help with buidling an *accurate and consistent group of arrows*. 1st, use and arrow squaring tool on both ends of the arrow shaft. Very important to insure that the ends are square before installing the nock and inserts. 2nd, use a spine tester to index the bare shafts and use the stiffest spine location to index your fletching. Yes, even 4 fletch. For 4 fletch, index the stiff point of the spine with the flat side of the nock. Using the best and consistent process to build arrows will yield more consistent groups and less flyers. <thumbs.up>

I’ve been dreaming about a build like this with the spinning insert combined with the single bevel broadhead. Want to see that go into gel

Great Video!!!! Love the MATH⚡️SCIENCE behind finding the FOC. Informative, entertaining, super cool! Loved it! 10/10
.. p.s. Get your eyes checked out 🤓

I keep some canned air and QD auto electronics cleaner around to shoot into the shaft then I wipe it out with a q tip. Really easy way to get all that dust out.

I killed my Cow Elk with my Recurve and a 635g arrow. Now I've hit a compound as well I'm going to do a build along these lines. FOC is easier for me as my draw length is a Hobbit 26 & a quarter inches lol. Nice video and subscribing was easy decision 😁

Any issues with durability with the RIP XV shafts?

Extreme FOC but you wrap and add a fourth feather? The spinning insert you lose the bone splitting of the single bevel.

Over 400 grains on the end of an 8gpi arrow and all these guys crying about the wrap and a feather. Honestly.

You are killing your FOC with those wraps. For every 5 grains you add to the back you have about 25-30 grains up front to maintain the desired FOC. Edit: Go with a 300 or 315 grain broadhead.

Not impressed. I understand high FOC has become the latest fad for some, but even the Ashby Foundation does not recommend above 20%. You're chasing a number, thinking more is better, but despite your reference to "science" I'm not convinced you really understand the negatives of extreme FOC. As far as the "can't wait to see what it will do to a whitetail" comment, you won't see any difference between that setup and what you shot last year. My setup this year was an Iron Will wide 125 grain, total arrow weight 545 grains, and I got a complete pass-through plus the arrow buried itself into the dirt 9 or 10 inches on the other side of the deer. This was a northern Wisconsin whitetail, 3-4 years old, nine point--not a fawn. You want me to jump on the high FOC bandwagon, show me how your arrows group (and drop) at 50-60 yards with 15, 20, 25+ FOC. I live in Colorado, and I advocate that you should take most of your practice shots at least 20 yards beyond what you plan to shoot in the field. That extreme FOC is going to be less forgiving, simply because it's going to cause your arrow trajectory to drop faster--you end up with less margin for error.
