Fun fact : in France, we have a special system to enter the top engineering schools where instead of going to college after graduating highschool, you can enter what we call a "prépa" (to prepare admission exams for these schools) and cram a 3 year bachelor program in 2 years. The most prestigious engineering school here is Polytechnique, also called "l'X" because reasons. As most students enter prépa having in mind to compete against others and get the best school they can in the end, we have a culture of yearning for the best possible schools, especially l'X.
In french, "intégrer l'X" means to get accepted into Polytechnique and subsequently enter the school, but you can also think of it as "intégrer x", ie integrating x dx.
This all brings me to the name that is given to first-years : "1/2", second-years : "3/2" and people who weren't satisfied with their results so chose to retake the year and the exams : "5/2", which are the values you get by integrating x dx between 0 and 1, 1 and 2, and 2 and 3 respectively.
