Simon I think you hit the nail on the head here! This year I have been messing around trying a lot with used drivers to see what has changed over the years. It sounds like I have a similar miss like you, when I start turning my hands I will close my face and have that dredded duck hook left... I have tried the Callaway GBB epic, Epic Speed, Rogue Max LS and TD (previous gamer).... The only brand that I have had real consistent success with was Titliest. I picked up a used 913 D3 and a 917 D2 and have loved the adjustability with the face angle as I like to see a head sit more open. I used them for a few rounds and ended up flipping them... This past month I was out on vacation playing a few rounds with a rental set and fell in love with the TSR2. It was such a nice feeling and even when I didn't put a good swing on it it didn't penalize me like other drivers in the past did. As soon as I got home I found one on ebay and haven't looked back! I love you videos and you are my used club Guru!

Love these type of videos showcasing benefits (if any) of old vs new equipment without bias. Have become my favorite channel of late. Would love to see something similar with old vs new player cb irons. Just got a mint set of old maxfli revolution black dots for cheap and wonder how much I’d be giving up gaming them

Great video! Just goes to show how many moving parts that there are when figuring out which clubs to play, even with a fitting. The more that I see stuff like this, the more that I understand that club fitting is an art whether it is done by a professional or on your own. Thanks for taking the time to do this!

I have a 917 D2, performs as well as more modern drivers my friends have. Still constantly looking at new stuff as we all do 😂

These are all great drivers. Any average golfer would play well with these. Great review. Golf technology works only so well. Lessons work the best.

Super test and also a bit disappointing. I’m a TS 3 player and was hoping to see huge gains from the newer generations, even tho I know that’s not going to happen. Now looking for somewhere else to waste my money. Any chance you could do similar with the titleist fairways and show how inferior the tsi 3 is ?

You could throw the 909D3 into that group and I don't think you would see much of a difference. I saw a negligible amount of ball speed going from the 909D3 to the Tsi3. The biggest difference was adjustability and forgiveness. Outside of that I would still be playing my 909D3. It's fast and long yet but the shaft is heavier and I can't adjust anything with it.

I’ve just bought an ex demo TSR3 got a decent shaft (paid a few 💰💰💰 for this) but I’ll keep that in bag for 2/4 yrs B4 I change to the latest titelist diver. Tried the GT v the TSR and no difference at all

I suffer from your same swing faults but obviously don't swing it as fast as you! How do you try and minimise the faults as I'm hooking my driver and 3 wood really badly at the moment but striping my irons
