Mickey had Rocky’s best interests at heart keeping him safe and now he’s afraid of losing Rocky.
Scenes like this make The Rocky Movies so good - ain’t all about fighting against one another is more than that is about friendship, survival, love, courage, honour.

Awesome sequel.
Clubber lang was great.
The way Burgess Meredith says wrecking machine was a like waving a red flag that Clubber was too dangerous.

Slys anguished screams when Mickey dies..dunno where he pulled that from but it's chilling in how amazingly he crushed that scene.

They were different moments from Rocky himself. Against Apollo, Rocky was the underdog, the guy with the "eye of the tiger", the guy hungry to win and show who he was. At this point, it was Clubber who was in this situation and Rocky became an accommodating boxer. That was Micky's concern.

Its funny, this is basically what Duke was telling Apollo about Rocky in Rocky 2..."We don't need him in our life"

Bill Conti was the right man to conduct a fine film score for the Rocky Franchise all 5 movies except Rocky IV.

Mickey would have never allowed Rocky to fight Drago. Glad he didn’t have to witness that

They just don't make movies like this anymore. Movies with such passion, raw emotion, movies with so much humanity in them, I really miss those days of cinema. The Rocky movies were and still is the embodiment of all those things, filmmaking like this is a true artform, an art form that is sadly missing in cinema today.

People tend to act as if the Rocky films were ''80's run of the mill'' type of flicks. They were actually inspiring, well written with top notch acting. They are great to watch over and over. Not many films of the last 30 years can say that. Don't get me started on all those Marvel movies🙄

Excellent scene. Shows how much Mickey loved Rocky. Went out of his way to “protect” Rocky. He knew Clubber was different, knew Rocky wasn’t as sharp as he needed to be, and most of all, how unprepared Rocky was to face a fighter like Clubber, and Mickey didn’t have the heart to watch Rocky get beat.
