How I broke down at the New York City Marathon 2023. This is my experience of the tough but awesome NYC Marathon 2023. Watch the race, see how I went, see all my stats and experience the expo and transportation to Staten Island to start the marathon on the The Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge.

This year's event, held in the heart of New York City, showcases a diverse array of runners from around the globe, competing on one of the world's most prestigious marathon courses. Running though Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, The Bronx and into Central Park. Whether you're a marathon enthusiast, a seasoned runner, or a New York City fan, this is such an iconic event.

Nicely done. Never mind about the time. In case somebody tells you a real marathon runner should run it in the 3 hour range you can always say you ran it in 3 hours and 112 minutes.

Great job Stef!!! Your finish time doesn't matter, you DID finish the marathon, not everyone can say this. Thanks for this nice video, I'm running the NYC this year, in exactly 4 weeks, and your video helps reducing my stress for this huge event. Fingers cross I will finish it as well.

Superb effort. Well done!. I have spoken to a dozen people who ran the New York City Marathon and they all say the same thing. It's a long ole day. For most, it was six-eight hours of travelling and waiting around before they finally set off. The first mile is a real wake up call. The climb on the bridge and all the doubts whether you can do another 25 miles kick in. Then the next 10-12 miles is really good and you start feeling really good about the whole day. Then a couple more climbs and you are broken and then it is just how well you can do 12km when everything is broken. Dont worry about the time. I mean if you got 4hr 00m 41s then I can appreciate you would be pretty ticked off. You have set yourself up that if you ever did it again, you have got something tangible to beat . . and that is what today was all about . . . setting up tomorrow's goal !

Congrats! Love how you documented the end of the marathon. The BONK is real…and you made it through. I ran my only full marathon in 2012 in Hangzhou, China. It was amazing to run a marathon in another country. It’s something I’ll never forget. 4:17 was my time. Not great. Not terrible. But, I finished. ❤

Well done Steph. Bit harsh on yourself for being a couple of minutes outside the average. Do it next year as I have a feeling you will being the tenacious bugger that you are!. I'm impressed either way.

Thank you for this! You did amazing! I really don’t like thinking about the time it makes me so nervous but I truly understand how you feel! However, congratulations to you for doing such a spectacular job. Don’t ever take that away from yourself. I am running this year not thinking about the time at all. I just wanna enjoy the journey.

You finished and dug deep when things got tough. I ran this 25 years ago and will be going back this year to see if I can beat my old time. I found all the bits about how to get to the start etc very imformative. Thanks pal.

Hi Stef, Congratulations on your full marathon. I am currently a student pilot and a runner. I am very close to getting certified on my private and I just finished a half marathon two weeks ago. Your videos encourage me to move forward with my training as a pilot, but also now as a runner. Let's keep up all the hard work, and see you in the NYC marathon 2024.

Awesome effort Stef!!. I did the Gold Coast a few years ago and swore I'd never do another, but NYC might just change my mind.

Good on you Stef! That song at the start can’t hold us is one that I always run too! I get what you mean about not caring about your time, I have ran one Marathon and time meant nothing to me, as you would know it’s about getting over the finish line. Great video, can’t wait to see more running stuff!

Be proud of doing such a good finish time in the NYC Marathon. Our marathon is difficult, and you did well. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I have done it 22 times - there is just nothing like finishing a marathon!
