NYC Marathon Build: Into the Lion’s Den (Episode 1)

I'm excited to race the New York City Marathon on November 3rd, 2024. With only 12 weeks between the Paris Olympic Marathon and the NYC Marathon, I knew that I would have to find the balance between recovery and building fitness. After a couple of weeks off, I jumped back into training.
This episode shows week 7 of the 10 week build to NYC. Coming off of a fast 10 mile race in Twin Cities, Minnesota, we joined the BYU XC team on Tuesday for a controlled effort of 8x1000m repeats on grass to get the legs moving. On Thursday we did fatigued mile repeats–an 8 mile power run followed by 3x1600m. We ended the week with a 25 mile long run with a 4 mile pickup.
