Love the idea of moving points around after a scar event, really feels like a character is actively moulded by the events that happen to them

I like that “scar” system. A cool way to have results of actions, instead of characters just powering through without changes.

That Scar mechanic is really cool! Love the attention to roleplay options on the sheet.

Been waiting for them to do something like this ever since the Call of Cthulhu one-shot.

I'M SO FUCKING READY

"Oh but this is like Blades" "This is like PbtA" "This is like City of Mist" "This is like FATE" I swear to god some RPG players are like the people on tumblr who think Harry Potter invented stories about a kid with magic powers. Your favorite game, like all other playable games, was written by people who played lots of other games, this is how writing works

I’ve been wanting CR to do a one shot or short series playing Blades in the Dark. It always seemed like such a good fit for their narrative, descriptive, and RP heavy brand of play. Looks like I basically get my wish.

I am curious what the final official relationship to Forged in the Dark will be, because this certainly seems like a variant of it as opposed to a whole new system.

I really love how story-focused the system is at just this first glance. It feels on paper like theres a lot of safeguards for poor luck, when in other systems poor luck on the night might be unforgiving for your character. Ive always GMd story-focused homebrew games and a player just being unlucky can always be a bummer, but I love how it can be balanced in theory here.

Sounds great, looking forward to the stream. John Harper should get a credit in the book.

I started painting my nails a few years ago, initially to bond with my kids. Love to see it being enjoyed by so many other dudes! Normalize nail painting for everybody!

This looks really cool, but kind of weird they don't mention that this is Forged In The Dark or heavily inspired by Blades In The Dark.

This video is seriously so helpful!!! Every time I introduce a new player to this system I send them this before helping them make their character sheet, and it always gets them so interested and excited to play!!! Thank you so much!!! <3

Also don't forget that if you do play this game, put your sheets in something like a transparent folder sheet or laminate them since you'll be erasing stuff a lot you might as well just do it with a dry wipe pen and not just fuck it up with eraser marks.

One of the roles is called Weird? Yep, Mr. Taliesin "I'm going to try something weird" Jaffe was involved in the game design. :)

That was meant with gentle, teasing love. :D
