I remember doing this, the blowing and Ouija board part.... who didn’t?!’ Lol 😝 And if that didn’t work, , a Q-tip dipped in a little rubbing alcohol always saved the (game) day! 🙌🏽

The blowing always worked as well as light taps on the consul. The worst part of playing Nintendo was there was no “save” mode like kids have now. U either stayed up until u beat the game or just left it on until the next day. If the power went out or ur mom turned it off u went and cried urself to sleep.

I just gave up and then tried the next day!

I would push it in just far enough so the 45 angle would snag, and I would Slam it in real hard. It would work every single time I did that.

I'm so angry this is so accurate... my dad's N64 never worked unless you blew the cartridge, twisted the cables and praised jesus 5 times a day.

Lmao, dont forget pushing the game up and down inside the console, the one last push down to lock it in place.

what about putting the game in the freezer, or cleaning it with rubbing alcohol, putting the system upside down, holding the game cartridge down and sliding your finger left to right?

I use to not put the cartridge all the way in, like just a centimeter where the top of the cartridge would rub against the interior of the console as it went down.  For whatever reason this use to work all the time.

I was born in 2003 and I grew up on nintendo games and consoles. Especially with an older sibling, I got even more influence on it.

I can relate, still being haunted by the ghost of NES past ... his name is Greg and he loves platformers! 😋

You forgot rattling it when it was in the machine. The ghost haunting thing is legit tho.

I spent an unhealthy amount of time taking out and reseating cartridges, convinced that if I could put it in just so all would be well. Eventually, I would get frustrated and slam the thing in and out like it owed me money, wiggle all the cables, and make sure the tv was on the right channel and the coax a/b switch in the back was flipped (because this was the dark time of televisions having only one input). I probably started some domestic violence rumors with all the cursing and banging, but it was all worth it for that 8-bit joy.

Pushing the game up and down a few times and after that placing a cube of sugar so it pushed down the game usually made the game work for me :)
