I share some tips on how to wire a transformer. There are 2 types of transformer for doorbells. One has a black, white and green wire. One has 2 black wires and a green wire.

Thanks for the link, still not sure about wiring the Ac, Vac terminals on the honeywell chime. The standard mechanical bell had front, and transformer terminals, the honeywell has three chime terminals, an Ac and Acv terminals.

Nowhere in your diagram do I see where that transformer is getting its power supply. That's what I'm trying to find. Wiring a transformer should include that important piece of information

Great video, i was looking for an answer to G Vas question on the honewell chime, as i have the same chime and trying to get the Ring pro connected to it. i am not using the batteries but i do have something that Ring calls a pro power kit.

Thank you. My transformer has 2 black wires and 1 green like the one in your hand. I thought that black or white could be connected to either black transformer wires but needed reassurance.

Excellent video! I have a query regarding the length of the wire; I'll be installing an 8 volt wired doorbell. The doorbell button will be located 35 metres away from the chime and the transformer. Is 35 metres too long for an 8VAC doorbell? Will it be losing power?

Is it possible to put the chime on a switch? We have a video doorbell so I would need constant power but would love to wire a switch on the chime to prevent it chiming during our child's naptime.
