Not only that, but the contact surface area is less than that of a straight blade. Thus more power for cutting over smaller area

Also a Curved blade has a different effictive edge angle. Even when a straight blade and curved blade have the same edge angle when sharpened, a curved blade has a lower effective edge angle when it hits the target because it deviates more from the 90 degree angle that a perfect straight strike to the target would have. You can also angle a straight blade that way (this is often done with carving knives to remove more material) but a curved blade helps this motion as shown in the video.

The radius of a curve allows more blade to touch the target, more blade more damage.

It's so much more complicated...
For one, straight blades can exact more pressure and focus their energy on one point, thus cutting well too...
Also, the target is usually somewhat round and not flat...
On the other hand, straight blades tend to be balanced more for thrusting, thus taking away cutting performance...

it's not the best at slashing, hacking, or stabbing but it's pretty damn good at all of them

Not really. Try a boline knife curve. Sometimes there is too much curve to cut well 👏

straight blades require you to pull the blade since it can't really cut. The benefit of straight swords is in thrusting.
