I can remember going to see Die Another Day in November 2002 when it first came out. Me and my brother bobbed our heads to the opening riff of the gunbarrel, smiles on our faces. Good old days. Unfortunately, Die Another Day would be the last movie me and my Mom would see together in a cinema before experiencing a stroke just a month later. Which changed her forever. Which is why this outlandish yet magnificent Bond film will forever hold a special place in my heart

This is the very first Bond film I saw at around age 7, introduced to me by my step-father. This cool guy slowly walking across the screen, he’s strong, gets all the women, and has this cool car that turns invisible and shoots rockets. I was mesmerized. Die Another Day to me is as Goldfinger was to Pierce Brosnan. This film will forever be in my heart.

Everyone just seems to misunderstand Die Another Day. The producers wanted to bring Bond into the 21st Century in a big way. They clearly took notice of the Fast and Furious and Triple X series and decided to borrow some of those concepts but still make sure it didn't get too dumb. The Icarus weapon had some similarities to the space weapon in Goldeneye (no one slams that movie). The invisible car was cool at the time but today looks stupid but it's actually camouflage which could actually be possible but not likely. They just wanted an action epic that went a little over the top for the first Bond movie of the 21st century.

Pierce Brosnan was an amazing James Bond. Sucks that Goldeneye was really his only film during his tenure worth multiple views

Fun fact: To date, this is the only time that a bullet has been seen in the gun barrel sequence.
